How You Can Remove Yourself From Google’s Supplemental Index

As a web page owner, you must realize that a large part of your Internet traffic will come from the enormous search engine known as Google. This is simply because Google has completely dominated the online world and that is where most Internet users go to look up different things that they are searching for. Since there are millions of web sites that exist on the Internet today and continue to increase in great numbers as time goes on, Google has set up a ranking system that ranks web pages according to quality, relevance, and professionalism.

In order to dramatically increase the amount of traffic flow that your specific site receives, you must create a site that receives high rankings from Google’s search engine. There are many web sites on the Internet that do not hold a high quality nor anything relevant to people’s searches, so Google places these sites in a place called the supplemental index. The high quality and relevant web sites are placed in Google’s main index and then receive their rankings accordingly.

If you find your site constantly being thrown into Google’s supplemental index, then your obvious goal should be to make the changes to your site that are necessary that will qualify it for the main index and therefore receive a higher Google ranking and greater amount of traffic flow. The following are a few reasons why Google qualifies certain web sites for the supplemental index.

Little Or No Content
Web pages that do not publish a lot of content will easily be excluded by Google’s search engine. In order for people to find what they are looking for, you must publish key words and phrases on your web site so that the search engine is able to detect them more easily. Always remember to update the content on your web site and to keep it at the highest of quality so that people will constantly want to revisit it.

Lack Of Uniqueness
One of the biggest problems with web sites in the online world is that they contain a lot of repetitious information and content. If you want to become highly ranked by Google then you must create a web page that is completely unique and special from all the others that are published on the Internet. Eliminate the use of duplicate text and copied content so that Internet users do not become frustrated when visiting your site.

Lack Of Links
There are some web sites on the Internet that result in a dead end, or in other words, you arrive at the site and there are no other links that lead to additional site other than your browser’s back button. This can be extremely frustrating for Internet users and so Google’s search engine places these pages in the supplemental index. Remember to place links on all of your pages in order to keep people happy.
